First learn about the Legend of Santa Claus
Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk named St. Nicholas. He was believed to have been born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra. He was known for his kindness and piety. The stories said that he gave away his wealth and travelled around the countryside helping the poor and sick. The story about how he saved three poor sisters from being sold into slavery and prostitution by their father is one of the most popular.
Through the times, St Nicholas has been known as a protector of children and sailors.
He died in December 6th which is also known as his feast day; the feast day of St Nicholas.
And today, how Santa is depicted.
All around the world at Christmas, pictures of Santa Claus adorns our streets, homes, relaxation areas, shopping malls, school and even our offices. Santa is depicted in his flying sleigh with the most famous Rudolph and the other reindeers. Santa at midnight just before Christmas, sneaks in and drops small toys fulfilling wishes made by the kids and also fills the stockings with candies and treats. We tell the kids to write a letter to Santa and dear Santa reads all the letters. Santa also keeps a nice and a naughty list to determine who gets a gift on Christmas morning. Better be good cos' Santa is gonna find out who's been naughty and nice. Yes, he is going to check his list twice cos he is coming to town soon.
What Women Do?
Who is likely to speak up for the girl child...you remember that woman activist, yea, what's her name again?
Who is likely to plan a great big family fun time, shopping around for gifts, sneaking around at night, hiding gifts for a big surprise....ermm I guess you know too. It's your mom.
Who would care to get bespoke gifts for everyone, wrapped with beautiful ribbons and placed under the Christmas tree... you know it's not a man.
Who will read all the letters and categorise into a naughty and nice list...definitely my aunt.
And yes who is likely to fill the stockings with great treats and candies...hey that's the fab mom across the street.
And the list goes on.
Don't take me too seriously, it's Christmas and I am a woman who just LOVES to enjoy Christmas.
A Merry Christmas to you and you and to the whole world!
